‘250 GTO’ The first in the IGNITION Series
In the lead-up to the Open Garden weekend, Emelie was honoured to be invited to visit one of the locations where Nick and Annette store their classic supercars. Taking reference photographs, it didn’t take Emelie long to decide which two cars she would choose to showcase.
Using her signature urban-art style, Emelie created two large original paintings on linen; one featuring the show-stopping 250 GTO – the most expensive Ferrari of all time – whilst the other was a flurry of yellow: The impressive Daytona.
Visiting Nick the afternoon before the event was to open, Emelie and her photographer, Michael of Red Forge Studios, Corsham, set up in the Mason’s dining room to capture the moment Nick Mason signed the two original pieces, along with the first six prints off the press.
When Nick first saw the paintings, his reaction was one of genuine admiration, with a very agreeable ‘Ohhhh YESS!’ as she brought them closer to him. Emelie will never forget that moment. It made time stand still for her.
