I am Devoted
Louise, an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in tumour and trauma, kindly allowed me to paint her during Lockdown 1, amidst the strains and horrors of the early pandemic.
Layers of semi-translucent paint intwined with Lou’s striking portrait makes for an emotional final piece.
The reality of this painting is a harsh mix of exhaustion throughout a time of despair, heartbreak, love, loss, heroism, loneliness and light.
